2026-27 Season Kicks Off October 6
With a Special Event
In partnership with Hopkins Library, HCC starts the new season with the lauded documentary, The Librarians, a gripping look at book banning in the southern U.S. Who would ever have thought librarians would be investigated as criminals as they stand on the front line to protect the First Amendment and defend against censorship. It’s an important story to see.

Hopkins Community Cinema is a volunteer group of movie lovers responding to the void left by the departure of the popular Hopkins movie theater in 2022. Starting with only a few folks watching a film in someone's garage to hosting up to 50 at the art center’s Jaycees Theater, HCC strives to keep the dream of movies alive.
Thanks to partnerships with Hopkins Center for the Arts and the City of Hopkins, this citizen-led group screens films that inspire, inform, entertain, and bring the community together.
